Supporting data transmissions up to 40 Gbps, the Thunderbolt specification has changed connectors from Mini DisplayPort used in Thunderbolt versions 1 and 2 to USB C used in Thunderbolt 3.
This high-speed cable can be used to connect to a docking station to a laptop or connect directly to any Thunderbolt device.
The Thunderbolt specification also allows direct or daisy chained data storage devices, video displays, power adapters/chargers and USB devices to be connected through a single connector.
